Subject: Nominations for DAC D Executive Committee Positions

I am encouraging all DAC members to begin thinking now about those DAC D members who would be excellent to have on our DAC Executive Committee. Our DAC elections will be held at Med Trade Fall in Atlanta, GA October 28 -30, 2008. A call for nominations for the DAC D Executive Committee will officially open at Med Trade Spring in Long Beach in May. The current DAC Chair, Barb Stockert will become the Past Chair. The remaining positions of DAC Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary, and Treasurer will be open for nominations from the membership. The criteria to be eligible for consideration as an Executive Committee member are listed below.

To be eligible for nomination to the DAC Executive Committee, a DAC supplier member must have served as a DAC D State Representative for a minimum of one year, a DAC D A-Team Leader for a minimum of one year, or a DAC D Assistant A- Team Leader for a minimum of two years. In addition, the DAC D member must also be a current member of a state or multi-state association within the Jurisdiction D DAC to be eligible for consideration for nomination for the DAC D Executive Committee. Only state or multi-state association members in good financial standing in the DAC are eligible to be nominated to the executive Committee. Industry consultants, associate members, and manufacturer/vendor representatives are not eligible for nomination to the DAC Executive Committee.

To serve on the DAC D Executive Committee does require participation in monthly conference calls, which are usually each about an hour in length. At times, additional calls are needed to review the questions the DAC sends to Noridian for review and reply. Most communication between the Executive Committee is handled via e-mail, so it is important to have regular access to e-mail to be an active participant. Our DAC Administrator does much of the work to keep the DAC running smoothly. Although the DAC Chair requires several hours a week to manage, the other Executive Committee positions can be handled in several hours per month. An industry crisis can certainly increase the time requirements, but for most of us, it is a doable endeavor. The opportunity to represent the DAC membership and to work with your peers on the E.C. is quite rewarding. To know that with perseverance we can make a difference for our industry and our own companies makes the effort more than worthwhile. I can’t wait to use the IVR to start checking same and similar!

Please encourage our best and brightest and nominate them for a DAC D Executive Committee position!

Thanks!
